Special Free School proposal
Hampshire County Council is the local authority responsible for school place planning in Hampshire and has identified the need for a new 125 place 4 to 16 Social Communication Needs/Autistic Spectrum Disorders (SCN/ASD) special free school expected to open in September 2020 (subject to necessary approvals).
Expressions of interest and applications to sponsor this new special free school are invited.
A site has been identified for this special free school at the former Chineham Park Primary School site, Shakespeare Road, Basingstoke, RG24 9BP
School Design and Build: Feasibility work and an outline design is being undertaken by Hampshire County Council. The successful proposer will work with the County Council to ensure that the building is built to the required standard and meets the needs of the modern curriculum.
- Invitation to submit proposals
The County Council and the Department for Education would like to invite interested proposers to submit proposals for the establishment of the new academy.
The competition will run for 4 months until 12.00pm 24 November 2017.
It is compulsory that proposers register their interest. The County Council requests that this is done by 29 September. Register your interest.
Proposers should complete their full applications by 24 November and submit them to both Hampshire County Council email@example.com and the Department for Education via FreeSchool.SPECIAL@education.gov.uk, with one copy going via email to both as well as one hard copy going to the LA, and two hard copies to the department (address provided in the application guide).
