Moving Offices

Since the start of my apprenticeship, I knew that I was going to have a change in workplace, and a change in employer. After a few months of working for Sport Hampshire and IOW and Hampshire County Council, Sport Hampshire and IOW was to leave the Council and become a charity. This came with a few problems, such as the moving date being changed back repeatedly for 5 months. Due to these dates being put back, we were able to prepare for the move date, yet no matter how much you prepare, it won’t stop the “busy-ness” and the rushing around on the actual moving date. However, something like this always brings the team together and increases morale by taking a few days to do something away from your job, with a goal so clearly to reach. This changes the feel of the office, away from it being purely business, to something more informal, and therefore a change of office is always welcomed.

This is the first time in my life that I have moved, whether it be a house move or an office move. It was an amazing experience to be able to help with the move, by doing things such as finding the right removal company, and making all the necessarily arrangements for them, and the planning of the move with colleagues that are able to help and advise, from their personal experiences. Hampshire Futures has taught me more than I ever thought I would be taught, and something like experience with moving, will help me later in life.
