Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme (MARS) - Hampshire County Council

Nov 11 2024

Leaving your employment under a Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme has the same impact on your pension as if you voluntarily resign. This means that if you are under  age 55 when you leave (and you have met the 2 year vesting period) you will receive deferred benefits which will be payable at your normal retirement age or can be taken early from age 55 with reductions. If you are over age 55 when you leave you can choose to take your pension straight away but your pension will be reduced if it is paid before your normal retirement age. You can run an estimate of your benefits on the Member Portal.
