Police Pension Schemes Amendment Regulations 2018 - Family Support Leave

Jun 1 2018

An amendment to the police regulations for all police schemes now means officers (male and female) now have the option to pay pension contributions to 'buy back' pension for any periods of family support leave (maternity, parental, adoption, maternity support and adoption support) backdated to 3 April 2011.

Any members wishing to buy-back periods of unpaid family leave for pension purposes must notify Hampshire Constabulary in writing by 21 August 2018. They will be required to pay an amount equal to the pension contributions which would have been paid had the unpaid leave not been taken.
