Hampshire Archives
At Hampshire Record Office we hold a collection of archives relating to Hampshire, Hampshire families and organisations, and film and sound archives relating to central southern England. We also house Hampshire’s local studies library. We welcome visits from schools and academies, and wherever possible we will tailor our sessions to suit your locality or curriculum requirements.
The entire holdings have been designated by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council as an outstanding collection of national and international importance. This wealth of historical evidence spanning over 1,000 years provides an unparalleled resource for schools.
Service features
- Learning visits can be arranged for pupils at Year 6 and above
- The needs of pupils in Years 3 to 5 may be met from our resource packs, DVDs and online resources, supplemented by copies of material relating to the school's locality
- We provide free online resources on our website
