Join the Hampshire Million Tree Challenge!
Help us reach our goal to plant one million trees in Hampshire by 2050 and add your trees and hedge planting to our online map.
We set a goal back in 2020 to plant a million trees across the county by 2050. We have since raised funds to enable the planting of disease-resistant elm trees, small woodlands, individual trees, hedges, community orchards and mini forests. Communities, landowners, charities, businesses, farmers and individuals have all joined in our efforts to improve biodiversity, restore habitats, mitigate climate change and create a lasting legacy in leaves for future generations. We also work in partnership with our local district, borough, town and parish councils.
We need your help
We have only just begun in our journey and have a lot more trees yet to plant to reach our goal.
If you or your community have carried out any tree or hedge planting, we would love you to tell us about it so we can log your efforts on our online map.
With your help, we can create a leafy legacy in Hampshire. By planting trees and hedges, you could improve habitats for dormice and other wildlife and create important pollinator corridors across towns and villages. You could help to bring back mature specimens of the majestic elm tree by planting disease-resistant elm trees, or you could simply plant a lone tree or trees in a park, your school, garden or community space. Everything helps and each tree provides a home for wildlife and a stepping stone for nature to move between habitats.
Get planting!
Trees need us to care for them, but they also need us to find them suitable homes in the first place. If you have a site where you would like to plant trees, register for updates with us to find out about funding opportunities and our free tree giveaways.
We can provide trees for farms, communities, charities and schools. Contact us to find out if you are eligible or visit our Get involved section to find out more about what we offer. We can tell you if your land is suitable and what species to plant as it’s important to plant the right tree in the right place.
Tell us about new trees or hedges
We want to create a map to show all the great tree and hedge planting happening across Hampshire. We need your help! Tell us about the trees and hedges you've planted and together help us reach the goal of planting one million trees in Hampshire by 2050. Complete either the tree tracker or hedge tracker survey.
We are looking forward to sharing our map with you soon.
Help us to create a legacy in leaves and become a part of the Hampshire Forest Partnership vision for 2050.
