30 years - 30 stories

Celebrating 30 years in school catering

Who can believe that HC3S has reached the ripe old age of 30? To celebrate this milestone, we are looking back at our 30 years in 30 different stories. Our staff and suppliers have shared their memories and stories about working with HC3S and how we got to where we are today. You can follow these stories over the coming weeks, sharing our journey from 1989.

Celebrating the Britishness of the food on our menus

British Food Fortnight, 21 September to 6 October 2019, will see an estimated 3m British meals served across schools, universities, hospital and care homes.

HC3S takes pride in the Britishness of our food 365 days a year.  For the third autumn running we invite our school communities and customers to celebrate British Food Fortnight.

We are working with our schools, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and work places to create menus incorporating dishes containing British ingredients. Encouraging adults and children to think about where their food comes from.

Trips to the New Forest Fruit Company and Lyburn Organic Vegetable Farm are planned. Wicor Primary School in Portchester will be offering parents and children cookery workshops in collaboration with our suppliers.  They will learn to make family meals for £5 to recreate at home.

Tag us on our Facebook page to show us how you are getting involved in the national campaign and use the hashtag #BritishFoodIsGreat.
