Stylus

Insert batteries

The stylus uses one AAAA battery and two SR527SW coin batteries.

Unscrew the end of the stylus to reveal the battery compartment.

Put the AAAA battery and put it positive end down into the compartment. Ensure you put the battery in the correct way. If the battery is round the wrong way it will break the stylus.

Attach stylus to laptop

Loop the lanyard provided through the end of the stylus, and loop it back on itself to secure it.

Loop the other end through the top right slot at the top of the laptop screen and loop the stylus through to secure the other end.

It is important you use this lanyard as although the stylus are magnetic to the side of the laptop, they can easily be knocked off and lost if using out and about.

Stylus not working

Batteries

The AAAA battery provides power for the tip and the barrel buttons. The coin batteries provide power for Bluetooth functionality and top button quick-launch features.

If the stylus stops working, you can change the AAAA batteries in the first instance, you don’t necessarily need to swap the coin battery SR527SW as well. If the Bluetooth stops working then you can change the coin batteries.

You will need to follow your usual departmental ordering procedures to purchase new batteries. These are not available via IT.

Bluetooth

Your stylus should work straight away, however if Bluetooth isn't activated on the laptop then it will not work.

To activate Bluetooth, click the arrow on the task bar then click the Bluetooth icon.

A list of options will display, click Show Bluetooth Devices. Your stylus should be displayed.

If you can't see your Stylus then click Add a Device and follow the instructions on the screen.
