What we do
Hampshire Highways aims to provide a safe, well managed, and resilient highway network for all who use it. On a typical day our engineers drive and walk our roads and pavements, checking the condition of the network and recording any issues. At the same time our operation control centre receives and manages enquires from the public, processing and distributing them out to our engineers on the ground.
Our engineers visit sites, produce designs, and raise orders with our contractor who will then undertake the necessary repairs. Sites which require more substantial works will be handed over to our planned maintenance teams who undertake detailed investigations and produce technical CAD drawings prior to raising orders.
In a typical week our teams will receive 1,635 enquires, attend 85 emergencies, repair 1,235 potholes, cleanse 3,098 gullies and drains, and resurface 7,442 metres of carriageway and 968 metres of footway.
"Highways is an ever changing and exciting area to be part of. No day is the same, and the knowledge, experience and support in the team is second to none."
