Learning and Development Business Partner, Portsmouth City Council
Roland has worked in the public sector for 33 years, working initially in supporting young people and adults into employment, before working with Adults with Learning Disabilities to then become a qualified social worker in Adults' Services. His initial workforce development roles entailed supporting Adult Social Care, as well as managing the Social Care Workforce Development Team at Portsmouth City Council. Roland was responsible for introducing the ASYE into Portsmouth and works closely with the Principle Social Workers to ensure the best possible outcomes for newly qualified social workers. Roland’s current role requires him to work strategically across the council and its partner agencies, representing Portsmouth City Council in the Step up to Social Work South Coast Partnership. .
