Fundraiser
This role will assist towards raising funds to support the ongoing development of the park and its activities
Royal Victoria Country Park benefits hugely from the contribution made by local volunteers. Fundraising is a fun, rewarding and a great way to meet new people.
Purpose of the role
- to help organise fundraising programmes and events/activities/opportunities for the Friends of Royal Victoria Country Park whose remaining target is £14,000 for the HLF Chapel project
- to create a programme of ongoing fundraising activities to ensure financial support for both the HLF Chapel project and park
Typical tasks and duties
Working closely with the Friends of Royal Victoria Country Park Committee (FoRVCP):
- to identify ways of increasing funds through existing streams already in place
- to identify new and innovative fundraising opportunities and events
- to research formal funding opportunities and complete applications (with support)
- to liaise with the Project and Park Managers on fundraising opportunities
- to work with the Volunteer Coordinator to arrange volunteer support at fundraising events
- identify and contact local companies and relevant national companies for funding support
- to ensure fundraising activities and progress is promoted to the public (with support)
Skills, experience and knowledge required
- previous fundraising experience would be advantageous
- a creative and innovative approach to fundraising
- ability to work on own initiative
- to be able to advise and guide the FoRVCP Committee on applications
- a professional and friendly telephone manner
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work in a team with staff and volunteers
- able to support events (some of which will be weekend and evenings)
Training
- we will ensure that you are given relevant training as required
- we will give you a full briefing on the project and park objectives
