Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) forms the basis of our procedures for community engagement in the preparation of minerals and waste plans or working on minerals, waste and our planning applications. It sets out how we will involve local communities and interested parties in minerals and waste decision making.
A consultation has been launched on proposed changes to the Statement of Community Involvement. More information can be found on the consultation webpage.
Our Statement of Community Involvement
The local community and interested parties
The local community is anyone who is affected by decisions made by us in relation to plan making and on planning for minerals and waste in Hampshire and our own development. It includes:
- individuals
- interest groups
- voluntary and community groups
- established residents associations and action groups
- business, including minerals and waste operators
- district, parish and town councils
- neighbourhood forums
- landowners/agents
- statutory organisations
- marginalised communities and groups
Other Local Planning Authority SCI
Each of our partner Local Planning Authorities, in the preparation of minerals and waste policy, have their own Statements of Community Involvement. These set out their own approach to community involvement within their administrative area.
