Very few coroners' records survive for Hampshire until the middle of the 20th century. Those researching accidental or unusual deaths in Hampshire will therefore need to use local newspapers where some quite detailed reports can be found.
There are three Coroners serving Hampshire and survivals of their records are
- Central and Southampton & New Forest from 1936
- North East Hampshire from 1941
- Portsmouth and South East Hampshire from 1953
