The Pompey Pals Ypres 1917

A local history talk at Waterlooville Library

During the course of 1917, the 14th and 15th Battalions, Hampshire Regiment were heavily involved with the fighting around Ypres, Belgium, resulting in more loss of life for Portsmouth and the surrounding area. This talk will explore the role of The Pompey Pals during the course of 1917 and tell the story of some of the local men involved. There will also be the opportunity to view some of the equipment and personal belongings the men would have taken into action.
