Winter Landscapes in Watercolour
at Gosport Discovery Centre Mondays 20 November and 4 December 6.30pm to 9pm
Ever wondered how to recreate the sky, sea, trees and buildings on paper? This course which runs over two evenings, will show you how with unusual paint effects and techniques.
Apply watercolour to create the surface of water, earth and foliage.
*Plan and sketch a composition to begin a painting.
*Mix colours with an understanding of colour theory.
*Utilise painting techniques such as wet into wet, dry brush, dragged colour, sponging, stipple. Salt wash, and overlaid wash
During this course, you will learn the basics of watercolour painting in a fun, safe and friendly atmosphere. You will leave the course with a sheet of painting techniques and a simple completed painting.
No previous experience is necessary, suitable for all abilities.
You need to bring:
A watercolour set, brushes and palette (essential) a pencil and sharpener, images to work from- your favourite landscape or seascape, watercolour paper is useful if you have it.
Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
