Watercolour for Improvers
6 week course at Hayling Island Library.
This is a 'follow on' course for any learners interested in further developing their painting skills with watercolour.
Join art teacher Simon Cowper for a fun, practical art course in which you will learn some of the more advanced techniques used in watercolour painting.
Learn how to handle new types of wash, explore new palette colours, create unusual textures and see how different types of watercolour paper respond to paint.
You will leave the course having completed a series of 'step by step' paintings on themes such as landscape, flowers and architecture.
The knowledge and skills gained will further develop your confidence with this medium enabling you to create better paintings in the future.
A basic knowledge of watercolour painting is desirable.
For the first session you will need to buy/bring:
* Watercolour paints (12 colour pans or tubes), large plastic palette, water container and a size 8 nylon / sable round ended brush.
* Good quality A4 / A3 watercolour paper, 300 grams in weight e.g. Bockingford

Tuesday 18 September to 23 October, 10am to 12noon. Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
