Use crochet to aid health and feelings of wellbeing

3 June 2020 10am to 1pm

4 week course, Wednesdays 3 June to 24 June 2020, 10am - 1pm.

Crochet has the power to carry you through depression, soothe anxiety, and give you a much-needed boost in confidence. The familiar curve of the hook, the challenge of a new stitch, and the pulse of a regular row can absorb hours of worry and quiet negative thoughts in an instant.

This course is designed for complete beginners or those wishing to brush up on their basic crocheting skills. You will be able to choose from a range of designs and our friendly tutor will guide you through the skills required to create a simple piece of crochet.

You will need: · Crochet hook · Pen and paper · Yarn

This Course could lead to: Crochet- Next steps Continental Style Knitting Hand Embroidery and Applique

 Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.

Learning goals: 

    · Use the crochet hook and yarn confidently

    · Use slip stitch and chain stitch.

    · Identify and use other stitches as appropriate

    · Read and follow a basic pattern
