Join the library

Anyone living, working or studying in Hampshire can become a member of Hampshire Libraries

You can join online or in person at any Hampshire library. You do not need any identification to join the library.

Good to know

You don't need to join again if you already have a Hampshire library card.

If your membership has expired you don't need to apply for a new card. Just visit your library to renew your membership.

If you’ve lost your library card please visit your library to obtain a replacement for £1 charge.

If you have a library card but don't know your PIN, you can get a PIN reminder.

Complete the registration form

If you are happy with all the terms of borrowing, and the way fines and charges are priced, you can join online now.

If you are under 16 you cannot yet join online. To register please visit any of our libraries or Discovery Centres with your parent, guardian or carer.

Parents can access the child’s account online by asking for a library PIN number to be set up in branch. They can then use their child’s library card and PIN number to access the account to renew/reserve.

Start reserving titles

Once you have joined online you will be given a temporary membership number and PIN (Personal Identification Number). You can use this straight away to reserve titles from our catalogue.

Receive your library card

Your library card will be posted to you at the address you have registered, ready for use. The membership number on the card will give you access to ebooks and online resources.
