The Makery is a flexible environment where you can get hands on with exciting digital kit share knowledge and try out new creative ideas and tools.
There are two Makery sites, in Fleet Library and Fareham Library. Each offer a space for us to run activities for children and adults to bring all generations, cultures and members of the community together where they can Meet, Design and Create. We will be demonstrating Virtual Reality, playing with robotics, teaching digital storytelling, exploring coding and more!
Our focus is to develop technical experience for all by providing an inclusive safe place in which networks of like minded people can flourish using quality specification equipment. The Makery is a vibrant, flexible and adaptable space with digital technology that is designed to cater for all including local start ups, entrepreneurs, home education, adults, families, young adults and children.
Central to our aim of developing new skills are our paid sessions which have been created based on an educational approach with digital STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) focused learning taking place in a fun and relaxed environment with the Makery equipment carefully selected to reflect this. The sessions will introduce and deliver STEM to younger members of the community as well as the older members. All sessions are led by our friendly Makery team and can include opportunities to get to grips with Apple iMacs running Sketch Up Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud, Apple iPads, Lego Robotics, Crumble kits and Raspberry Pi kits to explore coding and the world of micro computers, 3D printing and more!
In addition to our paid sessions, The Makery also offers membership schemes. During this time, you are able to use any of our range of equipment for your own projects and learning, dependant upon availability.
