There are just six weeks left until the end of the consultation on the proposals – which aim to maintain good quality breaks for parents and carers of disabled children, within a reduced budget, while providing fun and educational opportunities for the children and young people receiving them.
The Consultation on proposed changes to Hampshire County Council’s Short Break Activities Programme for children with disabilities opened on 12 March 2018, and is running until midnight on Sunday 3 June 2018.
Feedback gathered from the online consultation will help to inform decisions to be made, later in the year, on the provision and delivery of the Short Break Activities Programme from April 2019.
Before completing the online form, the County Council recommends that people take time to read the accompanying information. This sets out the current Short Break Activities Programme, together with background information, the proposed changes and their potential impact, as well as other options for taking part in the consultation.
The findings from the consultation will be published in a report and will be considered, alongside other factors, when decisions are being made about what will be available through Hampshire’s Short Break Activities Programme, and how it will be accessed from April 2019.
Additional information - Drop-in events:
A number of drop-in events have been, and are, taking place around the county, giving people the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the proposals.
Additionally, the County Council is hosting a dial-in phone and online live webcam question and answer session on 29 May 2018. Members of the public will be able to ask questions about the proposals via their computer or telephone. People wanting to take part in the free online session need to complete a booking form which can be found on the consultation web page.
