Councillor Patricia Stallard, Executive Member for Public Health at Hampshire County Council, explained, “Evidence shows that finding cancer early makes it more treatable. Through the Be Clear on Cancer campaign we aim to raise awareness of relevant symptoms for bladder and kidney cancer. Our message is, if you notice blood in your pee, even if it just the once, tell your doctor.”
Bladder cancer mostly affects men and women over 50 and blood in urine is a common symptom. It is important to bring it to the attention of a doctor so that early investigation can determine whether it is due to cancer or another cause.
