Local communities benefit from new County Council fund

Local community organisations are set to benefit from £13,000 of funding thanks to Hampshire County Council’s new Recreation and Heritage Community Fund

Feb 26 2019

The new fund was set up by Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Seán Woodward, who said: “It has been really encouraging to see the number of applications being submitted for this fund so far, and I am delighted to be able to approve £13,000 already. I now look forward to seeing future applications from a whole range of organisations that will benefit their local communities.”

The fund is being used to support projects which provide community benefit and help local communities thrive. It will help local organisations become financially self-supporting and not reliant on public sector funding. One-off grants of £1,000 to £3,000 will also be awarded from this fund to help pump-prime community events and activities.
