Showcasing Hampshire’s future development potential

Hampshire County Council has been showcasing Hampshire’s future development potential as a business location at the South Coast Commercial Property Show this week

Nov 4 2019

Councillor Rob Humby, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Environment at Hampshire County Council, said: “Hampshire is a great place to live and work.  It is the home to world class research universities and successful business clusters, and we are committed to making the most of the county’s potential by encouraging businesses to locate and succeed here.  We are fortunate to live in a county surrounded by unique coastline and outstanding countryside, we have international ports and airports, including the UK’s only dedicated business aviation airport in Farnborough – we have a lot to offer.”

Maintaining a focus on fostering a knowledge-based economy while ensuring tomorrow’s workforce has the right skills to thrive is one of the key conclusions of the recent Hampshire 2050 Commission.  The Commission was established to examine what the County Council and its partners could put in place now to put Hampshire in the best possible position for future generations.

Councillor Humby continued: “Continued investment in the county contributes to Hampshire’s economic prosperity and creates an environment for the creation of knowledge-based and skilled jobs for the future.”

The focus of the County Council’s Regeneration and Development team is on ensuring that there is an adequate supply of quality business premises to support the local economy. The portfolio showcases key development opportunities and property available for business in both Hampshire and the Isle and Wight and has been produced in consultation with both public and private sector partner organisations.
