Councillor Keith Mans, Executive Lead Member for Children’s Services at Hampshire County Council, said: “As more parents make the most of the Government funded free 30 hours of early years childcare, the demand for specially trained, qualified staff is rising. Anyone already working in, or considering a career in this specialist area should attend this free event to gather useful information and ask questions. They could even apply for current vacancies while they are there.”
Taking place in Lyndhurst Community Centre the event will be open from 5pm until 8pm.
There will be a wide range of information available, on topics such as CV writing and interview techniques, and a ‘live jobs board' on which early years/childcare providers can advertise their current vacancies.
In addition, visitors to the event will be able to talk to childcare and early years professionals, and County Council early years education specialists, as well as representatives from:
• Job Centre Plus - for advice about Universal Credit, working credits and other benefits
• National Careers Service
• Colleges offering childcare courses
• Hampshire Futures – for information and advice about Apprenticeships
Members of the public can turn up on the day. Further information can be obtained by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
