Helping Hampshire carers to find the support they need

Hampshire County Council is encouraging carers to take a few minutes this National Carers’ Week to log on to the Connect to Support Hampshire website to find out more about the wide range of support available to carers in their local communities

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Health said: “Carers often place the needs of the person they care for above their own, neglecting to look after their own health and wellbeing. We want anyone who looks after a loved one on an unpaid basis to take a few minutes to find out about the support available locally.

“Caring is a highly demanding commitment but very often carers don’t know where to turn to for support. The Connect to Support Hampshire website is a fantastic resource helping carers to find help and support quickly and easily.”

The Information Finder tool on the front page is an excellent place to start – carers can simply tick the topics they would like help with and it takes them to a results page with clear links to follow. There is even an option to email the results page to yourself to explore later.

No home computer or laptop – no problem. Just pop into any one of our 48 libraries to access the information on one of the computers available for the public to use.
