HC3S, which supplies the catering for school meals throughout Hampshire, works hard to produce innovative menus that children will like, while complying with School Food Regulations.
Menus are designed so that children have the right amount of proteins, carbohydrates, sugar and fat in their diets. Here we share a favourite recipe, which is one that allows fruit to be used, instead of as much sugar, in a regular rock cake mix.
It’s easy to prepare, so why not make it with your children to encourage them to cook during the school holidays? They are sure to love the baking as much as the eating!
