With the days getting longer and hopefully sunnier, our country parks, outdoor venues and libraries have a great variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy at this time of year.

Here are a few fun ideas you can step into this Spring.

Staunton Country Park

Easter Holiday Fun

Daily until 23 April, 10.30am

Come along to the Farm to meet the new arrivals in the barn. Follow the Easter trail and get creative with seasonal crafts.

Cost: normal admission prices apply, with a small charge for some crafts and activities. All children must be supervised by an adult.

Lepe Country Park

Easter Trail

13 to 19 April, 10.00am to 3.00pm daily

The Easter trail is guaranteed fun for all the family. Pick up a trail card from the park office and return with the correct answers to claim your prize.

Cost: £2 per child, no need to book.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Family Orienteering

Friday 21 April, 10.15am

Come along to this family-friendly event to try your hand at the sport of orienteering. The education team will teach you the basics through games and a short course before setting you off on one of the professional routes. This is an outdoor, bookable event, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Morning and afternoon sessions are available.

Royal Victoria Country Park

Chicken Race

20 and 21 April, 10.00am to 12pm or 2pm to 4pm

Join a workshop and make your own chicken mask, tail and wings to wear. You’ll then meet up (in our chicken outfits) for a chicken egg and spoon race. Suitable for three to eight year-olds. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited so please book and pay in advance.

Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve

Hide with a Guide Event

22 and 23 April, 10.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 3.30pm.

Join an experienced birdwatcher in a hide and find out more about the birds visiting the Nature Reserve at this time of the year.

Cost: the event is free, however normal admission rates to the Reserve apply.
