Egg-citing events happening in Hampshire this Easter

From Easter egg hunts to adventure trails, there’s plenty of activities to be getting involved with this Easter holiday

Perhaps you have your sights set on some bird watching, or seeing what you can find during the pond dipping at Sir Harold Hiller Gardens. Here’s our pick of what’s on at our venues

The Peter Rabbit Garden Trail

Manor Farm Country Park 
Saturday 24 March to Sunday 22 April 2018 
Opening time: 10am 
Cost: Normal farm admission charges + £4 per trail (£2 if booked in advance) 

Based on Beatrix Potter’s much-loved characters, the trail makes a welcome return to Manor Farm this year. There are currant buns to find, and goldfish to catch, on the interactive trail. Can you spot Peter’s lost coat? And don’t forget to watch out for Mr McGregor.

Prices include a FREE gift and sticker for every trail pass purchased. Meet the rabbits and farm animals too.

Hillier Gardens Easter Trail

Hillier Gardens Pond Dipping

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Cost: Normal garden admission fees + £2 per child

Join in our pond dipping to find diving beetles, pond skaters and snails in the Education garden ponds. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Extreme Explorers

Queen Elizabeth Country Park 
Thursday 12 April 2018 
Time: 10.30am to 12.30pm 
Cost: £6 per child

Not for the faint hearted! Can you beat the clock? Take the Explorer trail through the woods, jump, duck and dive around the new assault course. Finish with a cup of cocoa and a pizza cooked in the new clay oven.

Children must be over 1.4m to take part and all children need to be supervised by an adult.

Lepe: Easter Trail

Lepe Country Park

Pick up a trail card at anytime and on any day from the park office, fill in the answers and collect your prize.

Outdoor Activities

Why not get involved in the variety of outdoor activities you can take part in Hampshire this Easter Break, such as Climbing or dry slope skiing at Calshot Activities Centre, or Mountain climbing and gorge walking at Hampshire and Cass Foundation Mountain Centre. You could try your hand at canoeing and kayaking at Runways End Outdoor Centre or camp in one of the glamping pods at Tile Barn Outdoor Centre. Take a look at which family activities you will enjoy first.

Easter Egg Trail

River Hamble Country Park

Time: 11am to 3pm 
Cost: £2 per trail

Follow the trail around the park and find the different coloured eggs. Write down the colour of each egg you find and claim your prize from Barnfield kiosk.

Titchfield Haven Hide with a Guide

Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve 
Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April 2018 
Time: 10.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 3.30pm 
Cost: Free for event + normal admission rates to the reserve applies

Join an experienced birdwatcher and find out more about the birds visiting Titchfield Haven this time of year.

What's on at Titchfield Haven

The Great Hall

Take a look at the iconic Round Table in the Great Hall, famously linked to the ancient legends of King Arthur and his Knights. Take a walk back through history down the Long Gallery and meet the heroes and villains from the Great Hall’s past, from Kings and Queens, to judges and executioners. Explore the Underground Sally Port and take a peek at the secret passages created to surprise the enemy, or relax in Queen Eleanor’s Garden scented with herbs and plants from the 13th century.
