The target audience for all support packages listed are based in Hampshire

  • Good and Outstanding Children's centres, Family Support and Outreach workers.
  • Non EYE providers (Independent schools/out of school provision)
  • Individuals/organisations wishing to set up provision in Hampshire

Providers can purchase individualised support from those listed below.

Support - an individually tailored opportunity for leaders/managers/practitioners/teachers and committee members to discuss, plan and work through how they can sustain and/or improve their provision. This is usually done on a one to one individual setting/school basis with a member of the SfYC team.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - Action Planning

This support visit will focus on developing the action plan for the Early Years Foundation Stage. The advisor will guide you when prioritising areas for development while making suggestions and offering ideas and advice when planning individual actions. The advisor will help keep the actions and timescale manageable and realistic while maintaining challenge and setting high expectations.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - Dual-language story telling/ Persona doll session

These sessions are very successful at developing cultural awareness within the setting. They support the engagement of ethnic minority children including Travellers by raising self esteem.  Sessions are planned jointly with participants in order to build capacity. It is also an ideal opportunity to further engage parents/carers and develop relationships.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - ECERS/ITERS/FCCERS audits and support - 1.5 Days

The Environment Rating Scales are a set of standardised tools for measuring and improving the quality of early years provision from birth to 5 years in any early years based setting including schools and child-minders. They offer a structured approach to quality improvement and self-evaluation. Over 1.5 days.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - EY Tracking and data support

This half day support will focus on a review of your own current system and process for tracking children’s progress and how well it meets good practice in improving children’s progress and outcomes. It will include a reflective, self-evaluative dialogue that will supportively challenge your current practice alongside offering ideas and suggestions on how you could improve it further. There may be an opportunity to briefly draft a development plan if requested. This support will be individualised to meet your needs so it is important to be specific with any particular requests.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - EYFSP Moderation Visits and Support-1.5 Days

This suite of moderation visits and support will cover an examination of how well the principles of good early years assessment are embedded in practice and the robustness of Early Learning Goal (ELG) judgements.  Over 1.5 days.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - Focus on any area of Learning Support

The support visit can focus on any area that is required by the setting. It is advised that the setting/practitioner has a discussion with the advisor prior to purchase to establish clear expectations and requirements from the support visit.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - Overview 'health check' of the provision for the EYFS

This support visit will focus on an overview of provision and practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage. The advisor will provide the practitioners with suggestions for area in need of development and where appropriate give the practitioners examples and resources to show best practice.

Early Years Advisory Team - Support - Recruiting and/or interviewing EYFS staff - Schools only

We can provide support with all aspects of the recruitment process, including writing job descriptions, short listing and interviewing.

EMTAS Team - Support - Event aimed at supporting parents

These events, akin to a coffee morning, are a successful way of engaging with ethnic minority parents including Travellers. They provide an ideal opportunity to impart key information about provision in the Early Years, including the importance of continuing to use first language at home. They also offer parents and carers a context in which they are empowered to ask questions.

EMTAS Team - Support - Observation, assessment, planning and feedback for inclusive setting

An EMTAS specialist member of staff will make a visit to review current provision and give bespoke advice on how to develop a more inclusive setting. They will make a learning walk in conjunction with the lead member of staff and offer advice how the setting can become more culturally inclusive. They will support with planning resources and activities which reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of the children and families in the setting.
