Rights and Diversity Education Centre

The Rights and Diversity Education (RADE) Centre is a prime source of support for Early Years practitioners keen to develop work in RR (Rights Respecting, which includes gender and disability), the UNICEF Rights-Respecting School Award, cultural diversity, race equality and the global dimension.

We take a lead in tackling difficult issues while being reactive to a changing educational environment. We know that promoting equality and respect improves levels of attainment and participation for all children.
The Centre offers resource loans and curriculum planning advice to subscribing schools and settings. We have a great deal of resources to develop and support equality and diversity issues across the Early Years curriculum. The staff at the centre are very experienced in advising practitioners and responding to new initiatives e.g. the promotion of British Values within the spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) context of the school/setting.
