artSOUTH: Writing Workshop, Portsmouth - Wednesday 2nd October 2013

Do you want to write? What inspires you? - Join us for a free writing workshop led by creative writing tutor and novelist Sally O’Reilly. This workshop is being hosted by the University of Portsmouth on Wednesday 2nd October: 6.00pm - 8.00pm.

Where do your ideas come from? If you are interested in seeking original cues for your writing, this free workshop will help you generate new ideas. artSOUTH is keen to invite both new and experienced writers to respond to artSOUTH.

This free writing session is to help anyone interested in writing to produce their own artistic response to these new works. Sally O’Reilly will present an overview of the works on display across the region, and run a creative writing workshop using these works and the ideas of the artists as a starting point.

Sally O’Reilly is the author of two novels published by Penguin books and the nonfiction guide ‘How to be a Writer’ (Piatkus). Her short stories have appeared in the UK, Australia and South Africa. She has taught creative writing at the Open University, the University of Portsmouth and Brunel University. A former Cosmopolitan new journalist of the year, she was shortlisted for the Ian St James prize and the Cosmopolitan short story award. Her historical novel Dark Aemilia, will be published by Myriad Editions and Picador US in 2014.
