Thursday 7th December 2017

10.00am to 12.00pm

Create clay textured hanging Christmas tree decoration or garland.

  • Roll and manipulate the clay
  • Roll clay to an even thickness ready for cutting
  • Apply at least four different textures to the clay in various design patterns
  • Demonstrate using cutters to make the decoration shapes
  • Complete some decorations by applying paint to pre-made (dried) clay decorations

This is a craft workshop for people living with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and their family/carer.

Participants will be introduced to and guided through clay working techniques. We will get our hands dirty by rolling and cutting the clay. We will explore which materials can make attractive textures when pressed into the clay and we will cut out Christmas themed shapes to be made into hanging decorations.

This is a fun and friendly workshop which includes a break for a drink and a mince pie.
