Author of a charming, funny and moving cookbook memoir (“Best in World Cookbook 2017”), Jenny Mallin will guide you through five chapters of her book with a highly visual and fascinating book talk presentation which features her large collection of sepia family photographs,

You will discover how integral this community were to the British Raj through professions in the Railway, Military, Education. Using an old recipe book dating back to 1844, the author manages to bring to life her grandmothers, their lifestyle and recipes.

It’s a story about these extraordinary ladies who were brought up during the reign of Queen Victoria and King George, fiercely loyal to their Queen (and King) and yet lived happily in their community in India, equally at home with making Yorkshire Pudding one day to a hot and fiery Madras Curry the next.

Through Jenny’s careful navigation through 170 years of the British Raj, Jenny Mallin manages to bring her Grandmothers to life as though they are still there standing with their hands on their hips giving orders and directions to get things right”.

Come along and experience a unique insight into five generations of an Anglo-Indian family.
