Saturday 24th February 2018 

9.30am to 2.00pm

This course aims to provide something for everyone. For the beginner who wants to learn about the basics of working with clay or for the more experienced ones who want the chance to experiment and wish to receive constructive criticism. It is also a workshop focused to motivate creative using different resources. We will use many different references from contemporary & past artists and other cultures.

  • Learn about different techniques and their possibilities
  • Transfer a 2D image into a 3D shape. Thinking by sketching
  • Analyse, synthesize and represent elements objectively and subjectively. Learn how to see
  • Learn how to push reality. Using compositions and applying “movement”
  • Understand how lines, textures and tones can affect dramatically the meaning of a drawing
  • Acquire general knowledge about past and contemporary artists

The agenda of the workshop will be as follows:

  • Learn about clay, how to familiarise with it and the different tools
  • Proportions
  • Movement
  • Learn about different sculptors
  • After each exercise, we will analyse and discuss the results, and constructive criticism will be provided
