Giggles in the Gardens - Evening Picnic

Saturday 29th June 2019

Gates open 6.30pm

Show starts 7.30pm

The House of Comedy brings this new entertaining evening of live stand-up comedy to the Gardens.

Feel free to bring picnics, drinks etc. or make use of the on-site fabulous amenities.

Sam Fraser of the BBC will be our compere for the evening.

Comedians include:

Geoff Norcott, as seen on Live at the Apollo and The Mash Report amongst others will be joining us.

Tanyalee Davis confirmed so far as one of our main acts (as seen on live at the Apollo)

Ignacio Lopez confirmed as one of our middle acts. You would have seen Ignacio at The Malthouse Inn and on BBC Sesh (Cardiff).

Craig Campbell, supported Frankie Boyle for the third time on his national tour. He’s also performed on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One) and was responsible for easing the contractions of an expectant mother who laughed so hard at his performance on Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave)

Orlando Baxter, all the way from Boston especially for us.

American stand up Orlando Baxter exploded onto the Boston comedy scene in 2005, and was quickly established as one of the areas hottest young comics.

Elle Bert,  a firm Romsey favourite and local too!! Elle has performed all over the place but pleased to say she has performed at a number of House of Comedy events since its conception. Even taking control of proceedings at The Byline Festival last year on the main stage where she broke the record for how many ciders could be necked whilst still commanding the crowds attention!!

***New act just announced...Simon Brodkin, aka Lee Nelson***

You may know him as “comedy legend”1 Lee Nelson or as the “unfunny pillock”2 who gave Theresa May a P45, but you won’t know him as “tiny Jew”3 Simon Brodkin.
After three hugely successful series of Lee Nelson on the BBC, multiple TV appearances (Live at the Apollo, Sunday Night at The Palladium, C4’s Comedy Gala), and several world-famous stunts on the likes of Donald Trump, Kanye West & Sepp Blatter, Simon unveils his funniest persona yet; himself.
In this highly-anticipated ‘debut’ show, the award-winning, critically-acclaimed comedian takes us from his childhood growing up on the mean streets of Hampstead village, to his adulthood as a failed doctor, inept parent and fairly rubbish Jew.

“Prodigious talent” The Times
“Satire so sharp you could slash a tyre with it” Daily Telegraph
“Get him out!” Donald Trump
