To learn freehand machine embroidery techniques, in order to be able to use a sewing machine for creating a simple picture.

Learning Goals: (by the end of the course you will be able to...)

1. Setup your sewing machine for freemotion

2. Use threadsketching techniques to create embroidered drawings and text

3. Embroider a simple design using free motion raw edge applique techniques

About the Course: Learn the art of freehand machine embroidery. Have fun drawing with your sewing machine and create several designs using fabrics provided. Students will be introduced to techniques including thread sketching and raw edge applique.

The workshop is suitable for beginners. Sewing machines must be in good working order and have the ability to free motion. Please also bring with you a basic sewing kit including black thread.
