This course will enable you to understand key nutritional principles, special dietary requirements and their application to food preparation and the presentation of textured meals, together with longer term menu planning.
There will be an element of theory and practical work throughout the day.
This course will enable you to:
- Describe how to promote healthy eating in different groups and identify different types of diet
- Explain how you would support the development of menu planning for an individual
- Identify the different types of diets including cultural and ethical requirements, textured modified diets, diets for individual’s with diabetes, dementia, coeliac disease
- Demonstrate how to prepare and present person- centred textured modified meals
