This basic awareness course will help you to identify the early warning signs of pressure sore development as well as important aspects of assessment, prevention and management including fluids, nutrition, mobility, grading and equipment choice within the context of a community setting.

This course will enable you to:

  • Identify legislation, national and local guidelines, policy and procedures that affect pressure area care
  • Define a pressure ulcer and describe the causes and consequences
  • Describe key measures to help reduce the risk of pressure sores developing
  • Complete a pressure ulcer risk assessment

Please note: This course is not suitable for trained nurses.
