All foster carers receive an allowance for each child they have in placement to cover the day-to-day costs of caring for a foster child.
Rates for allowances and expenses are set annually by Hampshire County Council in line with recommendations by The Fostering Network (a national charity).
In addition, we offer a highly competitive skills-related income to those foster carers who go on to develop their skills and care for our more challenging children. We will support you to work towards this.
If you are currently fostering, have significant professional or voluntary experience, or wish to return to fostering after a break, you could be eligible for a skill-related income. Please see further details about the criteria of the different Skills Levels.
Hampshire County Council is looking for people who live in the county or surrounding areas. We are particularly looking for homes for older children, teenagers, siblings and children with disabilities or special needs.
