Foster carers support
Supporting you every step of the way
We appreciate that fostering a child isn’t always easy, which is why we offer an extensive support package. Support includes being buddied with an experienced foster carer during assessment and an allocated social worker to guide and support you throughout your fostering career. There is also an out-of-hours service to offer help when you really need it.
We also provide support for your own children already in the house. We make sure we include them in the conversations throughout your application where necessary, as well as in host participation events throughout the year. These are events where everyone in the fostering family can get involved, have fun and share experiences.
My family has been fostering since I was two, so it just feels normal to me. We share everything, and it makes me have a deeper understanding of why their behaviour might present in different ways.

Hampshire County Council is looking for people who live in the county or surrounding areas. We are particularly looking for homes for older children, teenagers, siblings and children with disabilities or special needs.
