Who can get meals on wheels

Anyone living in the Hampshire County Council area who is aged 55 or more can choose to receive Meals on Wheels if they have certain needs:

  • struggling to cook for yourself
  • have just come out of hospital
  • carer or relative who needs a break from cooking
  • feeling unwell, either physically or mentally
  • can't get out to the shops

Meal options

The meals are provided by our partner company Apetito apetito.

You can choose your main course and pudding from a menu of four options.

Afternoon teas are delivered at the same time as the lunch time meal and offer a choice of savoury pastry, sandwich and cake as well as a portion of fruit.

Delivery times

Deliveries are made 365 days a year, between 11:15am and 2pm each day.

Special needs and services

The driver will be able to cut up the meals, provide a drink, and encourage eating when required. They will also know what to do when they notice a cause for concern.

Hot lunches can be delivered directly to your lunch club at no extra cost. For more information contact apetito directly.

The service can provide special dietary and faith need meals. All meals meet the National Association of Care Catering guidelines and are nutritionally balanced.

Request meals on wheels

Complete the Meals on Wheels request form to send your details to apetito, our partner Meals on Wheels provider. They will call you directly within 2 days to discuss your requirements for providing a hot main meal and pudding to your door.

Making a change to your current use

If you have an enquiry about the service or need to make a change to the service you receive please contact apetito directly

Any meal cancelation has to be received by 10am on the morning of the delivery day, otherwise you will be charged for that day's meal.
