Due to financial hardship some families are struggling to pay for their utility bills and make repairs or replacements when cooking facilities cease working. Slow cookers are a cost-effective solution to help families and vulnerable individuals access a hot meal each day.
Availability until April 2021
We purchased 100 slow cookers and related cookbooks for distribution to Hampshire families with children and vulnerable individuals.
The slow cookers have been allocated and delivered to families in response to requests from schools, colleges, childcare and early years providers, social workers and other agencies. Slow cookers can be delivered to the agency for distribution if essential, or to an individual’s address.
Community, voluntary and charity groups can request a slow cooker for a household by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- confirmation that this is going to a family with children
- full delivery address, including postcode
- contact name and phone number for delivery
- County Supplies customer number (if you are an existing customer)
Once we receive this information, we will arrange for the slow cooker to be dispatched within four working days – request must be submitted before 16 April 2021 (there is only limited stock available).
Availability from April 2021
We are giving each community pantry 20 slow cookers each. These will be distributed to families with children and vulnerable individuals. Allocation is based on need, as identified by the community pantry organisers.
