Early Years Education (EYE) funding

Some two, and all three and four year olds are entitled to free part-time Early Years Education (EYE).

Up to 570 funded hours per year are available for each child who attends a school nursery class, state or private nursery school, day nursery, playgroup or pre-school and with approved childminders.

Hampshire County Council pays Early Years Education funding for these hours according to our Early Years Education funding payment terms and conditions (see Step 3 for further details).

Ofsted registration and Hampshire County Council approval

To provide Early Years Education services in Hampshire providers need to be registered with the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted), and approved by Services for Young Children (SfYC) on behalf of Hampshire County Council.

EYE funding registration seminar

To join the Early Years Education funding scheme new childcare providers must attend a registration seminar. These are available termly. Contact the Childcare Development and Business Officer at your local area SfYC office for details.
