Referrals to Education and Inclusion Therapy Service
Special schools therapy
We support children and young people in special school who have Speech and Language Therapy support specified in their EHCP or a referral is made by their Education Health and Care Plan Co-ordinator. We will gain your consent before your child is seen.
Mainstream schools therapy
The school Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) will discuss with us whether your child would benefit from a referral to the E&I Therapy Service.
Speech and Language Therapists are able to support key stage KS 2, 3 and 4 pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where Speech and Language Therapy is specified in their EHCP.
You must complete the online link giving your consent to a therapy team member seeing your child. The referral will then be made by the SENCo to request support from the Therapy team.
(Schools, contact E&[email protected] to request the consent link if not received.)
SEN requests therapy
The therapy team provides support for children and young people at the direct request of the Hampshire Special Educational Needs Department (SEN).
This includes all children and young people, including those in education otherwise than at school (EOTAS) or not attending school and children and young people undergoing an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessment.
This includes support from our:
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
Your Education Health and Care Plan Co-ordinator will discuss this support with you. If you agree to the referral, then they will share an on-line consent form with you. You must give your consent for a therapist to see your child.
Then the referral will be made by the Education Health and Care Plan Co-ordinator to request support for your child or young person. (Education Health and Care Plan Co-ordinator - ask your Area Team Manager for the consent link and further information.)
Colleges therapy
The college Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) will discuss with us whether your child would benefit from a referral to the Therapy team
We are able to support Hampshire college students with Hampshire ECHPs, where Speech and Language Therapy is specified in their EHCP.
You must complete the online link giving your consent to a therapy team member seeing your child. The referral will then be made by the SENCo to request support from the Therapy team. (Colleges, contact E&[email protected] to request the consent link if not received).

Moving to Hampshire
If you are moving to Hampshire and your child has an EHCP with Communication and Interaction Needs then please speak to the SENCo (mainstream schools or colleges), the class teacher (special schools) or your Education Health and Care Plan Co-ordinator to discuss support for your child.
