Registering a death
Death registrations are now being provided via the telephone. You can request an appointment to register a death by going online or by calling 0300 555 1392. Once your appointment has been confirmed, you will receive a call from a representative of Hampshire’s Registration Service.
We will need a copy of the Medical Cause of Death Certificate (MCCD) for the registration to proceed. The doctor may have sent this to us electronically or you may have been provided with a hard copy. If the latter is the case, please email a scan or photograph of the certificate to the email address nearest to where you live, as outlined below:
Alternatively, you can hand deliver the certificate through the door of one of our three main offices: Basingstoke, Fareham or Winchester.
