Collect a home test kit

Regular COVID-19 testing for people without symptoms is critical for protecting the population and stopping the spread of the virus

Test-Record-Repeat (twice a week)

Free, rapid testing at home is available for everyone from 9 April.

Get into the habit of regular testing twice a week and recording your result.

Do not use this service if you have any symptoms of coronavirus. This includes a high temperature, a new, persistent cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. If you are showing any symptoms, you must book a test. Testing with symptoms is offered at the Regional Testing Site, at Local Testing Sites or at Mobile Testing Units.

How it works
Where and when to collect

There is no need to book an appointment to collect a test kit.

Kits can be collected from:

  • participating pharmacies
  • community testing sites
  • the Regional Testing Site at Southampton Airport
  • the walk-through Local Testing Sites - see below:

Find your local collection site and check opening times. (Please note, opening times may be subject to change.)

Local Testing Sites

  • Aldershot - Parsons Barracks Car Park
  • Basingstoke – Churchill Way long stay car park
  • Fareham – Cams Alders car park
  • Gosport – Walpole Park car park
  • Havant – Havant Civic Centre car park
  • Winchester – Worthy Lane car park
  • Andover – Shepherds Spring Lane car park
  • Ringwood – The Furlong car park

The above sites are open in the morning for appointment-only testing for those with COVID symptoms. Following a deep clean, the sites will re-open for people without symptoms to collect the kits for self-testing at home. Do not attend a symptomatic testing site for collection of test kits outside the published opening times.

  • Do not visit a collection point outside the opening hours above.
  • Supervised lateral flow tests are available at community testing sites for anyone without symptoms who would prefer not to self-test. You can book an appointment or drop in.

The instructions booklet included with your test kit explains what to do if your test is positive, negative or void. It also explains how to register the result with NHS Test and Trace - it is important to record the result.

If the result is positive, you must:

  1. follow self-isolation guidance
  2. book a follow-up test as soon as possible
