Change a young person's life and help them reach their potential. There's a common misconception that teenagers are more challenging to look after than younger children, however some of our foster carers think differently. "Teenagers are not the most popular to look after. They can be challenging but young children can be challenging too, just in a different way. It’s looking at what they would like and seeing what adjustments we can make to make this placement work. When teenagers are active in participation, they’re much more cooperative and more willing to buy into that. We need to be more flexible in the way we negotiate with young people today." says John, a foster carer of almost 10 years.
