RSE 1 - Talking about Relationships and Sex with Young People
This introductory course is aimed at staff from any agency who have not undertaken any recent training on RSE with young people and would benefit from gaining an overview and update of the issues. This is a one day face-to-face course.
Course pre-requisites
- Safeguarding Children from Abuse by Sexual Exploitation
Learning outcomes
Participants will learn:
- What Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is
- To tune in to young people and understand what impacts their sexual selves
- To identify the many complex issues that young people have to deal with
- What Child Sexual Exploitation is and what we can do about it (a brief introduction)
- To practise communicating effectively with young people
- About the teenage pregnancy strategy (a brief introduction)
- The contraception methods and where they can be obtained
Course Progression:
- We recommend that you book on our RSE 2 training (formally SRE 2) at the same time as booking on RSE 1 training (formally SRE 1)
