Global page notifications

Overview

A global notification is used when an important message needs to be communicated to website users, such as system down time, a temporary closure etc. This forms a banner underneath the navigation bar. The user can dismiss this notification with the cross sign. They will need to start a new browser session to see it again.

Don't use global notifications for content that needs to be permanently highlighted. Use information boxes within the content for this purpose.
