The GOV.UK website has a list of the documents you need to bring to the appointment. You must bring the original documents, not photocopies.

Directions, car parking and access information for your appointment

Your appointment will take about 50 minutes for a couple to give notice and 30 minutes if you are giving notice separately.

We aim to see you within 10 minutes of your appointment time. Please arrive on time. If you are late we may have to re-schedule the appointment.

Cost

You need to pay a fee of £35 per person to give notice at the register office.

The fee is £47 per person if either of you are from outside the EU, European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland and both of the following apply:

  • you need a visa to live in the UK
  • you do not have a Marriage or Civil Partnership Visitor visa or a family visa

Hampshire collects information about you under data protection legislation in order to process and secure your appointment booking with Hampshire Registration Service. Your data will only be used to process your booking, and provide you with information about your appointment, to ensure that a Registrar is available to you on the day of the booking and that your individual requirements can be met. We will not share it with third parties.

We keep your data for up to one year after your appointment/s. The legal basis for our use of this information is Performance of a Public Interest task.
